Frequently asked questions

Which roles do you take on?

Data or business analyst, data manager, data steward, product owner, team lead, and interim head of data. Which of those fits depends on where things are stuck: a report nobody trusts calls for something different than a governance framework that exists on paper but lands nowhere.

What does eight years of experience mean here?

17 engagements since 2018, across water authorities, insurance, pensions, seed breeding and marine contracting. Always on the same seam: the technology under a number, and the agreements around it that make the number mean the same thing everywhere.

Why a podcast alongside the work?

Because data management rarely fails on the technology. In Databewuster, data managers and Chief Data Officers describe how they handle it in their own organisation. That yields more usable patterns than any framework does. The conversations are in Dutch.

Do you work alone or with a team?

Both. On an engagement I am at the controls myself; where more is needed, Power BiSon works with a fixed group of specialists. What I will not do is place a team that comes with six months of learning on your budget.
